Join us for a free 90min Moving Meditation Practice

The hour you spend at Practice will touch every other hour of your week. Your decision to make your awareness a priority will affect the rest of your life. That’s how important taking back your focus is.  Your freedom to choose what you give your attention to is under constant assault.  With Mindfulness we have the ability to create a larger space between stimulus and response, so that we can examine the nature of our minds and the actions the result there from.

Many, many people find it hard to maintain a regular Focus Practice, meditation or movement practice. Us too. It’s infinitely easier with the support of a group, tucked away in a secluded setting, where Nature & your comfort have been prioritized. 

Meditation doesn’t have to be painful to your body.  We provide all the props you need and any of the Zoetic team are more than happy to show you how to use them to achieve comfort while meditating.

Our signature class, PRACTICE, is super humanly simple, and incredibly effective. The first part of the hour is mindful movement (think slow, easy, stretching), suitable for every body, then we transition to a breathing exercise (4-7-8 is popular around here, guided by drum), the hour concludes with a twenty minute, guided to silence, open, focused meditation.

This deceptively simple Practice, done on a semi regular basis, has the potential to change your life in every way.  There are several opportunities every week to come to Practice. Check out the sign up page to rsvp and for a reminder text the day of your choice.  

Be forewarned, we use sound bowls, scents, and percussion in slightly different ways than usual and on occasion mindfulness mascot OooNa, the giant baby house bunny, will join us to Practice.

We open the doors to the lodge 30 minutes before Practice and we stay open an hour after Practice. You are invited to roam, spend time with the animals, and help yourself to the free adaptogen bar.

Mindful Movement

Suitable for ALL ages, shapes, sizes, and mobilities. We have clean mats, props, floor and standard chairs, bolsters, cushions, blankets, etc. Please feel free to bring your own equipment if preferred. The 90 min class, PRACTICE at Zoetic, is a moving meditation session steeped in the science of the ancient Mindfulness practices that have been verified now by modern science. B. used Stress Reduction Program. MBSR is the most widely practiced and studied, science based meditation stress reduction program in the United States.

Meet Your Guide

Dara is the program director and one of the guides at Zoetic. She has been practicing meditation, mindful movement, breathing exercises, silent and guided meditation for twenty years, teaching for five. Her classes incorporate movement and stillness, with a focus on queuing the breath to the movements to seamlessly connect the mind and body. She prides herself on the accessibility of her classes, while inviting people with mindfulness experience to meet the challenge with Beginners Mind. Dara has a love of the science of meditation as well as the philosophy, and peppers her class with useful information about HOW and WHY the mind/body connection is the key to well being and true freedom.


PRIVATE PRACTICE

If you prefer to receive private one on one instruction to familiarize yourself with meditation, or If you would like to Practice at Zoetic with a teacher to guide you in a more in depth way, please reach out to schedule a Private Practice. We will meet one on one to discuss expectations and anything else you may want to discuss on the topic of meditation and then practice together. After you are welcome to enjoy the animals, art, and nature for as long as you like.

COUPLES PRACTICE

At the beginning of the pandemic my husband and I embarked upon the adventure of practicing meditating together. I had 20 years experience practicing and teaching meditation, my husband had zero experience, and was highly skeptical. The results were undeniable and profound. If you and your partner can commit to sitting together 3 min a day together, the instructions for couples practice has the potential to expand your relationship, and eliminate co dependency. The experience of connecting on the level of consciousness with another human being will reveal wisdom it is impossible to learn through just a solitary practice. There are some mysteries that can only be unlocked with another person. You may have already tried counseling, or reading relationship books, this is different. This is a new way of connection, Non Verbal, and it’s simple to learn.
