YIN-ISH YOGA
This class is all about slowing way down, getting comfy, and stretching into the vast expanse between each posture. We call this class Yin-ish—because while it’s rooted in the meditative essence of Yin Yoga, we leave room to play. Some gentle standing poses may make an appearance, but most of the practice is spent on the floor, in simple stretches held for 3–5 minutes.
If you have found in traditional yoga classes that right as you find the posture, class is already moving on to a different pose, give Yin a try. You’re going to love it.
Expect a themed rotating, abstract, soundscape, with light guidance to help you stay connected to your body and breath as sensations shift and your body softens, opens, and becomes receptive. The real practice is being present and connected.
This class is especially supportive for overactive minds or those who’ve found traditional stillness meditation a challenge. You enter a space that includes the experience of stillness, through movement, and explores silence throughly, gently supported by the breath and the guide. As the body softens and opens into each gentle posture, the mind is invited to soften and open too, creating space.
Practicing in a group amplifies the energy. Even if you're someone who "can’t sit still," you may be surprised how quickly and easily you’re held by the rhythm of the room and the collective intention of dropping down and settling into the vastness of your own awareness.
The Three Instructions in Yin
1. Find the posture; meet your edge
2. Resolve to be still
3. Breath into the sensations.
