STRONG HOLD YOGA

This is Zoetic’s dynamic yoga class, a vinyasa class of sorts. This class is a strong flow in the flavor of Ashtanga yoga, but not quite as rigorously demanding. Variations are provided for every posture. However, you will sweat.

Another benefit to practicing this type of yoga is toning the body and clearing the mind. You will notice an increase in flexibility if you do this class on a regular basis. Because the sequence is the same every time you will have a valuable tool that you can take home with you, on vacation… Anywhere you go once you learn the routine.

This style of Yoga helps people with back problems, but those with the tendency to knee problems should take care. We do show variations for every posture to help with this.

The last 20 minutes will stretch out your body from head to toe. Relax your mind. Expand, soften, and open your heart.

Those who are seeking strength, flexibility, and an energy boost will probably enjoy this class as well! The system of breath and connected movement, using a broad range of postures linked together in a continuous flow, has an incredibly centering and strengthening effect on the body and mind.

The teaching team here at Zoetic is currently in training learning the primary series of Ashtanga Yoga. If you like our Strong Hold Stretch class and would like to pursue the traditional Ashtanga yoga path, we would be happy to point you to some great teachers of the traditional Mysore Method.

After the active part of the class, we will have a short guided meditation and cool down for 15 minutes. Then, you are invited to linger and have tea, speak with others or be silent, swim, or hang out with the indoor or outdoor animals.

This class is excellent for people with overactive minds as the poses will require your full focus to keep up.

Variations will be given so that this class can be accessible to beginners as well as advanced practitioners, but some experience will be helpful.

This is NOT a power yoga class or a gym like yoga class, you will be cued to hold your mind in the moment, while you are challenged in the body, but we ask you to not push yourself. Be where you are today and know that the quality of your commitment to showing up for yourself is what determines how quickly you progress along these kinds of paths.

All mats and props are provided, but feel free to bring your own if you would like.
