Welcome to Mindful Recovery.

At Mindful Recovery meetings we will focus on using ancient meditation practices in combination with the relatively new neuroscience to navigate the challenges of addiction.

We are a community of individuals who have found solace and strength in incorporating meditation practices into our lives, enabling us to confront and overcome our addictive tendencies successfully.

At the core of our mission, we firmly believe that we have the power to make choices that shape our lives. We recognize that addiction, however it manifests in our lives, is a formidable force.

However, through the power of meditation, we have discovered a path towards transformation and liberation from the grip of addiction.  We know that the human consciousness is also a force, both formidable and vast.

In this program, we come together to support one another on this journey of discovery. We acknowledge that each person's path is unique, and we honor the diversity of experiences and struggles that brought us here. Here, you will find a safe space where judgment is replaced with understanding, and where unconditional friendliness guides our interactions.

Through regular, intentional meditation practices, we cultivate self-awareness. We learn to observe our habits, urges, and compulsions without judgment, recognizing them as passing experiences rather than defining aspects of ourselves. By developing this heightened awareness, we gain the ability to respond consciously rather than react impulsively, making empowered choices that align with our values.

This program is not about quick fixes or instant solutions. It is a continuous journey of self-discovery, growth, and resilience. Together, we explore the latest insights from neuroscience, integrating them with the wisdom of ancient contemplative traditions. We embrace the power of collective wisdom, sharing our experiences, struggles, and victories, knowing that we are never alone on this path.

As we embark on this journey together, let us remember that recovery is not a destination but a daily commitment to ourselves. Let us support one another with empathy, kindness, and encouragement, knowing that through our collective efforts, we can create meaningful change in our lives and the lives of those around us.

Together, we can cultivate a life filled with presence, purpose, and authentic connection.

Mindfulness is what it’s all about, but what is Mindfulness? Let’s explore the science, philosophy, and of course the Practice, of Mindfulness together.

This group meets once a week for the purpose of gathering together to listen to recordings of lectures on Mindfulness by famous teachers and speakers, recorded soundscape meditations, documentaries on Mindfulness and the practice and science of meditation.

We will start with a 20 min guided meditation, followed by a presentation of audio visual materials or an exploratory activity, and then a group discussion on the topic. Everyone is invited to sign up to bring materials to share with the group on their week.

We meet every Monday evening at Zoetic. Mindful Recovery includes a check in period as well where anyone who wants to talk about their challenges around addiction are welcome to do so. No pressure.
